Having healthy credit card habits protects you from financial disasters like bankruptcy, credit card debt, paying excess payment as late fee, interest charges, etc. Good credit card habits will assist you to save your money plus to learn new financial lessons. Become an authorized card user instead getting a new one. As you know many states don’t allow peoples under the age of 21 to have an independent credit card since they must have a co-signer or independent income proofs. This is a tedious job and students don’t have enough financial benefits too. It would be better if you become an authorized card user of your parent’s card. The biggest benefit what you will get is good credit, its only cons is your parent can track your expenses, buying in order to control your shopping tendency.

Have your own credit card. If you have a regular income along with its proof you should apply for individual credit card. Many card issuers don’t feel great to hand over credit cards in hands of students due to their past experienced. Select right card for you. According to finance experts students should not get their first credit card as unsecured card. They must begin with secured card to learn how to utilize responsibly a credit card. No matter how much you have experience of using credit cards. Prefer cash on credit card. Though you have credit card you can use it but it is not good. You should carry cash also so you don’t have to use your card frequently. Use it as minimum as possible to avoid unnecessary charges of late fee, interest charges, over credit limit etc. So use credit card less than cash buying.

Pay your balance on time. Paying before due date is a key to happy financial life. A man’s finance depends on two things, first how much he borrows and second how does he repay. Both are first step to ladder of success. So think twice before spending and repay it on time.

Maintain good credit score. Perhaps as a student you don’t know importance of credit score but it is quite beneficial for a man as it affect individual for his whole life. A good credit score means loan with less interest, less fees, less charges, more bonus offers along with a good job. You do not know but it has become a trend among corporate they use to view credit score of candidates applicant for a job so they can know how do you handle money.

Don’t ever give your card to anyone especially friends. Friendship requires respect, better understanding rather than credit cards. If your friend is in emergency and he/ she has no alternate besides using credit card, you should do it yourself in spite giving it into their hands. Moreover you can offer them cash money.

Track your expenses. While people pay through credit cards, usually they do not trace their expenses and use to cross their credit limits. It can’t be define as good credit card tip so avoid it. Whenever you want to pay using your card, note it down to follow your total credit card expenses. Subsequently you can use it to match with credit card statement if there is variation.
