Choose card with grace period. Grace period allows to avoiding interest charges on balances. In other words grace period gives you enough time to repay your credit in order to save your money. Respect your credit limit. Credit limit is granted for financial emergencies instead buying anything. You should not go over credit limit because it charges a lot in interest rates, late fee, monthly charges, etc. so be aware and follow your credit limit.
Be habitual to check your account frequently. Most students don’t hesitate to forget their bank account resulting they don’t know their money goes to where. Let ensure every time you use your credit cards if your account has enough balance and you are paying enough rather than unnecessary money.
Pay on time. Repaying after due date will charge an additional cost as late fee, interest on balances, etc. Paying on time is a better way to maintain a free credit card, always go through this way.
Don’t use cash advance or balance transfer. However credit cards offer both facilities for sudden emergencies, you should avoid them as much as possible. Perhaps you don’t know credit card companies charge higher fee on cash advance and balance transfer from one account to another account. You should rend money from someone in place of using credit card’s cash advance, if it would be possible.
